Dorset Beach Classic Car Club Meet Venue Sea
There are few better places to begin a classic car run than the Jurassic Coast, and on a glorious summer morning in July, Chesil Beach Cafe was delighted to welcome members of the Portesham Automobile Society for breakfast as part of their unforgettable drive day.

The group cruised from Portesham along the iconic B3157, one of Dorset’s most spectacular coastal roads, with panoramic sea views accompanying them all the way towards West Bay. Sitting around 540 feet above sea level, the route offers breathtaking scenery before drivers descend the famous winding Abbotsbury Hill, revealing one of the county’s most photographed viewpoints. Looking out across the Fleet Lagoon, Chesil Beach and as far as Portland, it’s easy to see why this stretch of road is a favourite among motorists from across the UK.

Once arrived at Chesil Beach Cafe, the drivers proudly lined up their gleaming vehicles, creating a fantastic display for visitors to admire and photograph. The collection included everything from classic Minis, Triumphs and MGs to Ferraris – including the stunning Dino GT – alongside Aston Martins, Porsches and many other beautifully maintained classics.

Accompanied by family and friends, everyone enjoyed a hearty breakfast, freshly brewed coffee and warm hospitality from café owner Sally, whose welcoming smile and infectious enthusiasm helped make the morning even more memorable.

With its car park with sea views from its highest point, public toilet facilities and delicious, freshly prepared food, Chesil Beach Cafe is the perfect venue for car clubs, classic vehicle gatherings and even tractor meets. Whether you’re organising a breakfast run, club meet or simply looking for an unforgettable stop along the Jurassic Coast, the café offers everything needed for a relaxed and enjoyable event.

After breakfast, the convoy continued their scenic coastal journey before eventually returning to Portesham, having enjoyed one of Dorset’s finest driving routes.
